University guest house · Pisa · since 2014
Residence Le Benedettine
The University of Pisa’s guest house on the Arno: accommodation for academics, researchers and visiting professors, with tools built for the University’s offices.
The assignment
Since 2014 we have run the University of Pisa’s guest house on Lungarno Sonnino, a fine building on the Arno. The concession was awarded through an open procedure to a consortium led by Ballarò, responsible for management, welcome, reception, promotion and bookings.
Institutional hospitality
The guests are the University’s: visiting professors, researchers, academics and participants in university events. The guest house is full throughout the academic year.
Reception is open from 8 am to 9 pm (11 pm in summer) and staff live on site at night, so guests can arrive at any time. We help non-EU guests with paperwork before they arrive.
Tools for the University
For the University we developed our own applications connected to the management system: an authenticated booking system in four languages and a quotation tool for the Departments, which produces in seconds quotes that comply with public purchasing procedures.
Every request received by the guest house is also copied to the University’s address, so the University always sees what comes in.
