Not every facility we have run is still ours. The ones that have ended explain where today’s skills come from.
Student’s Hostel San Saverio
Palermo · Ten summers, from 2006 · ERSU Palermo
This is where the Student’s Hostel brand was born. For ten summers, from July to September, we turned ERSU Palermo’s San Saverio student residence into a hostel open to travellers and groups. The building is arranged around the cloister of the Church of San Francesco Saverio, dating from 1684.
As early as 2004, the student association from which the Cooperative was born organised the San Saverio Jazz Festival in the residence garden.
Student’s Hostel Palermo
Palermo · 2010 · University of Palermo
In 2010 we ran three historic buildings of the University of Palermo as a hostel: the former Schiavuzzo Convent (1623, 48 rooms), the former Convent of the Santissima Annunziata (17th century, 31 rooms) and the Casa del Goliardo, formerly the Hotel de France (25 rooms). Both convents are protected heritage buildings.
Casa senza frontiere
Ferrara · 2011–2017 · Municipality of Ferrara
An eco-built holiday house with a bar and refreshment point, just outside the city walls. The Municipality entrusted it to us in 2011 by extending the Ostello Estense concession. Our management ended in 2017, when the Municipality took the building back for another use.
Ristorante Santa Barbara
Campiglia Marittima (LI) · 2016–2026 · Parchi Val di Cornia
For ten years we ran the refreshment point of the San Silvestro Archaeological Mining Park: a full-service restaurant for Park visitors, a short walk from the Gowett.
Casa Ballarò
Ferrara (Mizzana) · 2018–2026 · Prefecture of Ferrara
A reception centre for asylum seekers in Mizzana, on the edge of Ferrara, run from 2018 to 2026 on behalf of the Prefecture of Ferrara. The service was within the scope of the Cooperative’s UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification.
